So What is Affiliate Marketing?

Put simply it is an arrangement between YOU (the affiliate) and the company in which you will promote their product and gain a commission at no extra cost to the consumer.

This is done by the company providing you with a personalized unique link that you will use to sell their product.

Once a customer clicks on your link or buys their product through your link you will receive a percentage of the sale. This is called a commission.

With 90% of the world, companies use affiliate marketers to promote their brands and they pay you generously to do so. IT'S A WIN-WIN situation!

The best part is you're not responsible for the product, inventory or customer service!

Your only job is to simply drive "traffic" to your link via email marketing, by talking about it on TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest - the list is endless etc. and BOOM you get PAID!

How Does It Work?

Affiliate marketing is a performance-based advertising method that enables third parties (like yourself) to earn commission on sales that people (on your media platforms) initiate. Affiliate marketing is when a third party (known as an affiliate, ie you) promotes an advertiser’s product or service and earns a commission for any sales they generate.

An affiliate (you) sends visitors (your followers) to an advertiser’s website, and if any of these visitors (followers, friends, family - anyone really that clicks on the link) then goes on to make a purchase this transaction is then recorded by the network and the network assigns a commission to the affiliate for initiating the sale.

A key advantage of this over more traditional promotional channels is that customer clicks and conversions are tracked, so advertisers only pay for actual clicks or sales generated by the affiliate.

It is free to become an affiliate and is a great way to monetize an online audience. One of the biggest advantages of becoming an affiliate is you can promote a product without having to own any stock.

Although it is very beneficial to do some research and look into a course. You can learn for free online. But I, like so many on TikTok and Instagram - recommend doing a course to save time, money and stress. As they are often full of information to get you started. You don't have to buy their affiliate partners program - but you will often get offered the choice too. (look in my Stan Store or reach out if you need help)

You can then go off and be an affiliate for so many other companies - like literally every company that you shop with and many that don't even know about - have affiliate programs - don't believe me, google your favorite's plus affiliate program - I guarantee that you will find it.

The 'downside' is that it does take a moment to set it all up, learn and implement - but the rewards are potentially ENORMOUS. You DO NOT NEED A HUGE FOLLOWING because your platforms will be filled up with like-minded people interested in YOU and what you have to offer.

It also can take time - making videos, editing, posting - but there are so many places to help and make this so much more streamlined.

The third thing to remember - results are not guaranteed and it depends on your motivation and skills that will get success.

But don't give up - keep learning, keep growing. This is not going anywhere - take one small step each day - and get excited.
